*COMMUNITY GIFT GIVING*

As you check out you will see an option for gift-giving.

The BU Lebanese Student Club and MassRaqs ask for your help in providing tickets to low-income community members through The MataHari Haitian Solidarity Network* (see more about this group below).

In order to offer 15 tickets to these community members, we are asking you to donate a few extra dollars that will go towards covering the cost of these tickets. We need the ticket income to cover the costs of the theater rental and the performance, but we are hoping that pooling together we can make this beautiful performance available to a more diverse audience. Thanks so much your generosity in for supporting the arts, and for facilitating access to those who otherwise could not afford to see this performance.

The MataHari Haitian Solidarity Network is a group comprised of women from MataHari: Eye of the Day, The Gilbert Albert Community Center, and The Greater Boston Nazarene Compassion Center (GBNCC).  The attendees are women displaced from the 2010 earthquake in Haiti who came together to support one another in healing, with the key purpose of advancing their well being and their families -- economically, emotionally, physically, and spritually.  The responsible organizers are Kerline Tofuri and Monique Nguyen Belizario of MataHari, Claudette Sanon of GBNCC, and Nicole Albert of Gilbert Albert Community Center.  To find out more about the group, please contact Monique Nguyen Belizario (monique@eyeoftheday.org; 617-329-1783).

Matahari: Eye of the Day and its Solidarity Network projects are community efforts that prioritize transformative dialogue, reflection, critical thinking & creative solutions and actions to address social injustices and human rights violations, including gender violence, slavery, sexual & labor exploitation and immigrant rights violations in the US and throughout the globe. Our mission is to mobilize communities to engage hearts, minds and conscience to create safe, healthy communities, while helping to shape a strong social movement, prioritizing the leadership and voices of communities of color and immigrants.
